You can record a hardware synth in Gadget if you connect an audio interface or one of those IK multimedia things that lets you run a line in through the headset mic input.I have a pair of digi boxes as well, and I actually find Gadget/iPad works really well as a companion. You can get midi interfaces for the iPad and sequence any instrument you could conceivably want on the midi tracks (DT and DN can even p-lock gadget parameters via CC channels) or it can be sample fodder of the highest degree.Despite all the features, there is something nice about buttons and knobs. Wow thanks for the heads up! I have a Steinberg interface thats compatible with iOS and has midi in and out so I’m gonna have to try that. Combining my hardware with Gadget would make for some crazy stuff! So I’m assuming by your second point you’re talking about sequencing any iOS or Gadget synth on the Digitakt/Tone? That’s awesome if so.I’ve been using iWavestation as sample fodder for the Digitakt and it’s been lots of fun so far.
The 2 Elektron boxes have completely changed my workflow for the better and have also sold me on any and all Elektron gear. Looking at possibly getting an A4 next.
